Founded in 1993, KMI (short for Knowledge & Merchandising Inc. Ltd.) evolved into the UK's largest owner or licensor of premium mass FMCG toiletries and fine fragrance brands. King of Shaves shaving 'software' was the first of these brands...

Run by Will King (Founder, CEO) and Herbie Dayal (Chairman), the company employs approximately 50 people, from offices in Beaconsfield and Teddington in the UK and New York in the USA. Andy Hill is the UK Managing Director, Tim Wright the Commercial Director and Stephanie Eddy heads up the American subsidiary.

Key dates and brands in the company's history include:

1993:  King of Shaves software launched.
1996:  King of Shaves skincare for men launched.
1998:  Ted Baker Fine Fragrances launches Skinwear.
2001:  King of Shaves Woman software and Fish, Born in Soho London launched.
2005:  Ted Baker Bodywear launched.
2007:  Angelfish launched.
2008:  King of Shaves Azor razor (our 'hardware'), Patently Obvious, Hed Kandi, Ted Baker Beauty launched.
2008:  KMI acquired Floraroma Ltd. which owned or licensed brands including Beautifully Delicious, Good Works, Phil Smith, Little Me, Colorsport and Restoria.
2009:  King of Shaves Woman Azure razor launched.
2009:  King of Shaves demerges from KMI.
2009:  King of Shaves issues Shaving Bond No 1.
2010:  King of Shaves launches Azor M Alloy System Razor.

King of Shaves' key retail customers in the UK include Boots, Tesco, Sainsbury, Superdrug, Morrisons and Waitrose, and in the USA are CVS/pharmacy, Target, Walgreens and Duane Reade. King of Shaves products are also sold in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Brazil.
