From 1st February 2005, King of Shaves has been the primary sponsor of Dr Kristan Bromley, Britain and Europe's number one Bob Skeleton, World Champion in 2004 and 5th placed at this year's Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.

The partnership is a neat fit, emphasising King of Shaves' meticulous understanding of precision, glide, blade technology, speed and distinction.

32 year old Kristan Bromley from Bath is a former World Cup and current European Bob Skeleton Champion, winning five out of the seven World Cup events in 2004. The King of Shaves sponsorship deal will enable Kristan to develop his Skeleton bobsleigh and remain on track in his quest to win and compete at the highest level.

Few people would actually choose to throw their body down an icy slope at 90 mph, but Dr Kristan Bromley is making a successful career out of it. Not only is he a champion athlete, he also has a PhD in Skeleton performance and runs his own company providing advice and design expertise on cutting edge blade technology, with its focus on the British Bob Skeleton Association.

Kristan Bromley has won several engineering and research awards including the Millennium Products Design Award from the Millennium Products Design Council. Using his design skills and bobsleigh experience Kristan Bromley is working with King of Shaves in order to begin the development of the most technologically advanced and efficacious razors.

Skeleton is gaining in popularity with sport fans and athletes alike. The appeal lies in the 'extreme' nature of the sport - the speed, the Gs, and the closeness of the body to the ice. The sport involves the athlete racing down a man-made ice track, adopting a face down, headfirst minimal drag riding position on the board - a sleek composite sled. Speeds reached are in excess of 90 mph and the athlete experiences G forces of +5.
