Despite nearly heart-breaking mechanical failure in the final race of the US ProVee Offshore Powerboat World Championships, driver James Sheppard and team owner Nigel Hook managed to finish the race and win!
The race was a nail biter, with one of Lucas Oil / King of Shaves engines giving out and allowing the boat a top speed of only 40 knots. James and Nigel were overtaken by two other boats, only for the leader to suffer double engine failure allowing the King of Shaves sponsored British driver to pilot the boat to Nigel and James' first ProVee World Championship victory. Another close shave for the team - but this time it ended in victory!
Well done James, and roll on Dubai for your reunion with Chris Parsonage in the completely rebuilt King of Shaves Class 1 Powerboat.
